I'm back after a long break. Updates:

1. Ear infections - be careful of groomers who leave your ears wet after bathing you. I ended up with yeast in my ear and a course of antibiotics, none of which I enjoy (Btw, I regurgitated an antibiotic pill and hid it next to the foot of the washing machine. Too bad Mum found it and forced it down my throat again. I'm on the lookout for a better hiding place for the next dose). To make matters worse, the people responsible for my plight got all defensive of themselves to the point of being rude, trying to shift the blame to someone / something else. Anyway, I choose to forgive them and my family insists that I be sent to another groomer the next round.

2. New car to ride in - I've got a new car to ride in and its got such a happy colour. It's called Little Miss Sunshine a.k.a the Sunshine Car. Can you guess its colour? I settled myself in quite easily the moment I got in and rode all the way to Sentosa. The evening at Sentosa would have been more enjoyable, if not for the haze. I'm glad the haze's clearing up now and hope it doesn't come back.

Those Pesky Ants Strike Back!

I guess the saying" Once bitten twice shy" doesn't apply to me. Yes those pesky ants got me again! How did it happen? I was out on one of my early morning walks when I sensed them near, in the direction of a bin. But Daddy wanted to go to the bin to dispose of something. I didn't want to go but followed anyway after much persuasion. Thinking back, I could have kicked myself for that moment of stupidity. I went and stuck my nose right into a corner where the ants were. You can guess the rest. I dashed for home once again to get help. Into the washroom I headed, where I vigourously brushed my face from side to side against the piece of newspaper laid out for my usual business. It was no help. Those ants were certainty enjoying themselves on my face!! Mummy was my Saviour while Daddy assisted. She knew better from experience this time and set to work getting my tub of dettol. However, the ants clung on tight and she couldn't find them. Thank God for her wits. She got my comb and brushed my fur. She and Daddy gasped when they saw the amount of ants tormenting me. I heaved a sign of relief. I was free at last! Once again a surviving ant was found on my tail. I ensured I ate it up with a vengeful glup. No ant was getting away from me scot free. So there! I have prevailed against those ants again!

My family loves it when I snuggle up to them. I love cherries. A new precedence was set yesterday by Chris. He rewarded me with a cherry when I went to the loo.

Conclusion: Do a good job in the loo and you get one of those delicious juicy cherries for a reward. It's that simple.
1. Look in the direction where the newspaper is kept (I make sure someone notices me).
2. I stand outside the washroom and put on the "I need to use the washroom" face.
3. They get the idea and lay the newspaper down for me.
4. I get my business done and receive my praises for being such a good dog.
5. I stand outside the fridge and expect my reward (the cherries).
6. Keep fixing my gaze on my family, if they give me the lamb lung instead of the cherries.
Do it repeatedly until they get the idea.
7. Those tiny but horrible crawling things. They have their way of getting to you without you feeling them until their small but mighty bites strike. There I was, leisurely taking my morning stroll when all of a sudden I felt ant bites all over my legs. I bolted, shook my head vigourously, jumped up a stone seat and down abruptly, rested, bolted, shook my head. Neither did they stop nor did they fall off. Dash home was the order of the day. Into the washroom I ran, scratched around on the piece of newspaper laid on the floor. Didn't help. My rescue came in the form of my bathtub filled with warm water and dettol. What a relief it was when I was put into the water and those pesky ants drowned in them. I could see their tiny bodies floating away from my legs. One survivor was found on my tail. It was picked up and shown to me. I sniffed at it and promptly ate it up - I am avenged!

Aircon Idea

Heard of an airconditioned kennel? Ultimate luxury eh? I got myself one thanks to some help from my human friends. I'll call it incidental innovation. I was playing around in my kennel, enjoying the attention of being push around it in. The last stop was outside and airconditioned room. That's when I discovered the airconditioned kennel. Here's the idea - get yourself a kennel and place it right outside an airconditioned room. It doesn't matter even if the door is closed as long as the door has louvered panels at the bottom. Your kennel should naturally have its openings for ventilation so the cool air slips through the louvered door, ventilation gaps and into the kennel! You can be assured of a good night's sleep this way especially during the hot and humid season. Lay a few of your favourite toys around your kennel to make it cosier. There - your very own cosy customised airconditioned kennel. This reminds me to turn in early. Good night.....

Yesterday morning I was tasked to stir two sleepyheads from their slumbers - Chris and Kezzie. I made a quick survey of the situation. Kezzie was six feet above ground, dreaming on her bed with stilts. I would not be able to reach her given my furry paws and my disinclination to climb. Chris was much more accessible as he laid in deep sleep before my paws. I set to work immediately. The first waking up technique - I let out a few of my quick, sharp barks. No response. Technique #2 - I nudged his back with my nose a couple of times. He laid still as a log. This guy's a deep one. It had to take my Technique #3 to see results - my most irresistible, irrepressible LICK. I licked his fingers, palm and arm feverishly and finally he stirred! I received my hugs and praises and raced back to the kitchen where the aroma of fried luncheon meat was occupying my thoughts. I had to get a bite of those most delicious smelling meat.
